ALGIERS – The Minister of Energy, Abdelmadjid Attar, underlined Sunday in Algiers, the imperative for Algeria to make more profitable its hydrocarbon sector through the development of the petrochemical sector.

In an interview with the daily El Watan, Mr. Attar reiterated the importance for the country to catch up in this area. However, he clarified that this is a very capital-intensive sector that requires tens of billions of dollars to invest, a perfect mastery of technologies and a good position in external markets.
